WING CHUN CLASSES

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a martial art of unlimited depth and potential. As an internal martial art, Wing Chun does not rely on brute strength or speed. Through the use of relaxation, focus, alignment and body mechanics, a student proficient in Wing Chun can realistically overpower a bigger stronger person.

Wing Chun is a traditional system of kung fu which has developed over the past few hundred years, resulting in a refined group of very practical techniques which can be applied by anyone with devastatingly effective results.

Although Taoist Path Wing Chun Southend-on-Sea promotes the efficiency of Kung Fu combat, we do not promote violence.  Our aim is to offer tools in preparation to survive a violent confrontation, if ever needed.  However, the lessons we learn in Wing Chun are transferrable to all areas of life.  As the name Taoist Path would suggest, our focus is not only on learning and developing fighting skills, but also being healthy and understanding our place in nature.

Steve began training in Wing Chun in 1998 under the tutelage of Sifu Sata Chand.   He started teaching in 2006 and takes pride in being able to pass on the wonderful art of Wing Chun.

Inspired by a yearning to obtain a deeper understanding of Wing Chun, in 2011 he qualified as an Acupuncturist and Tui Na (Chinese massage) practitioner, and now has a thriving practice in Westcliff on Sea. His knowledge of the human body and its energetics has further enhanced his understanding of Wing Chun, not only as a martial art, but also as a life philosophy and a health system.
